Locks of Love
This is a painting I did of the "locks of love" that are placed on a bridge over the Seine River in Paris. The entire bridge is covered with locks with the names of the two people who placed them there then threw away the key. Most impressive sight so I decided to paint what I remembered.

France, Labastide-Murat street scene

This painting was sketched in ink at Labastide-Murat, Fr. sitting across the street on a ledge in the sun on a warm day in September 2011. I used Arches paper 7 1/2 x 22 inches and only a portion of the painting is shown as the sides were cropped. I did an ink sketch first then back in the studio at Le Vieux Convent in Frayssinet, FR I painted it with watercolor. It's framed and for sale for $300.

View of Rocamador, Fr 2011

This was painted after I returned home from a watercolor workshop in France with Karlyn Holman in Sept. 2011. We stayed at Le Vieux Convent in Frayssinet and traveled out each day to a different town to paint. This painting is of the view of the town of Rocamador as we approached it.

Griffith Quarry, Penryn, CA

This is another calendar page of my 2012 desk-top, postcard calendar of stone work in Placer Co. It is the Griffith Quarry in Penryn, CA and I'll have to add the year it was built later.
Canal Stone Bridge, Auburn, CA

My calendar theme for 2012 is "Stone Work in Placer Co." so I've featured, houses, walls, fireplaces, and bridges in stone and this ink/watercolor painting is of a stone bridge over a canal.
